Obren said the prices at this business are high. Everything else was fine. He was charged for the diagnostic, even though they did the work. He suggested they could do better by not charging for diagnostics. He would recommend them to others, but he would also let people know about the high prices and their diagnostic fees.

I had an extremely nice conversation with the folks working and they had my oil change completed in less than 30 minutes. It was a great experience!

I chose this place for the five-star reviews, and the experience was so good that I'm leaving a five-star review. Stopped in the other week for an oil change and tire rotation, and asked the guys to take a look at an issue I'd had with the trunk latch not opening on my 2008 Scion tC intermittently. They work by appointment only, and had me in and out in 40 minutes, but asked me to come back for the latch issue the following week, because they'd had trouble replicating it (like I said, intermittent). Set up a time, came back, and they diagnosed it in 15 minutes, realized it was a common issue, called the manufacturer, determined it was a part that Scion would fix for free, got me a case number, called me back over, and told me that I should go across the street to the Toyota/Scion dealership to get it fixed rather than pay them lots of money. We're only in Ann Arbor for another year, but these guys will be my go-to shop as long as we're in the area.

I've now had two great experiences here, including one visit that, like Brian S., ended with the Advanced Auto guys diagnosing an issue that they looked up, determined was covered by the manufacturer, and sent me across the street to the dealer's to have fixed for free "instead of paying us a lot of money." They even called Scion up directly and got me a case number first! With that level of service, I couldn't recommend this shop more unless maybe they had free beer and chocolate chip cookies in their waiting area.They work by appointment only, and had me in and out within 30-40 minutes for an oil change and tire rotation. Their bathroom is clean, and the chairs are not rock hard. If you're having something quick done but don't want to wait there, there's a little coffee shop just across the parking lot that works just as well (they'll call you when you're car's ready).
